Virtual Lecture | Pam Weeks - Quilt-As-You-Go: It's Older Than You Think!
Georgia Bonesteel made “lap-quilting” very popular in the 1980’s as part of the quilt revival of the time, but quilt-as-you-go is hundreds of years old. Sometimes referred to as potholder quilts, Pam Weeks' research on these textile treasures led to her 2021 book Portable Patchwork: The Women Pioneers of the Original Quick & Easy Quilting Method, with Projects for Today. Pam is Curator for the New England Quilt Museum in Lowell, Massachusetts.
Join Quilt Nerding on April 12, 2025 at 6 pm ET for Pam's informative lecture on the historical technique of quilt-as-you-go. Pam will share fascinating information and images of quilts dating back to the early 19th century.
The lecture will take place online and you will receive a link the day before, via email.
Not available on the 12th? No worries! You'll receive a link to the recording, which will be available for one week following the lecture so you may watch at your convenience. 📼
