L’Artista is a lovely, large panel by Alexander Henry measuring approximately 24 x 42 inches (61 x 106 cm). Frida Kahlo stands in the center, wearing her iconic rebozo, Tehuana skirt and huipil blouse. She holds a bundle of paint brushes and surrounded by images often associated with her – a Mezo-American statue, loteria cards, parrots, Milagros and butterflies.
The panel would make a stunning centerpiece for a quilt. Or cut Frida out and make her into a doll. The images definitely call for embroidery and other embellishments!
